Where you live does not define who you are. When you buy into the negative stereotype on homelessness, you can believe you know the person struggling before ever meeting them.
When a community believes they know the homeless, before every meeting them, it becomes debilitating to the person hoping to pull themselves out of their struggle.
MATCHING GRANTS
Facing Homelessness is in the process of creating a matching grant program.
Our hope is to foster community participation and partnerships for addressing and ultimately ending homelessness by providing matching funds for innovative community projects!
Each of us has something to offer in creating the necessary solutions for addressing the complexity of homelessness. Ask yourself, what are you good at and what brings you joy?
Combine the answer of those two questions to address the needs of those struggling with homelessness. If you are good at it you will create change and if it gives you joy you will stick with it.
Both are necessary to make a difference. If you have an idea, please contact us at info@facinghomelessness.org.
